The Cyclotrope

This really is very clever. The Cyclotrope is a project by Tim Wheatley which he created as part of his digital animation degree program.

The cyclotrope is a cycle (bit of a cunning play on words going on there) of eighteen images spun at a certain speed so that the frame rate of the camera filming it gives the illusion of animation. In other words, it isn’t really an animation. Or is it? Answers on a postcard please!

I’m not sure: but I like it.
