Red Dog

In the near future the surface of the earth has become uninhabitable and humanity has taken to living below the waves.  Those left behind perished in their millions but a form of society clung on beneath the waves.  Then, one day, probes detect life on the surface and a brave few are sent to investigate.  Yet what kind of welcome will they receive in the land that they abandoned?

This is a well conceived film but one which you may think that you  have seen - in one shape or form - many times before. 

However, it is well worth watching to the end to grasp its own philosophical position about our future and what may happen if we happen to abuse the position of trust we are in as the most sentient species on the planet.
