Why are Crows Wrecking My Bird Bath? Eggs, Chaos and Garden Wildlife in South East London

Over at our sibling site, the Ark in Space, is a piece about my garden – or rather the crows that come to visit it to take advantage of its amenities! They are clever birds, these corvids, and are very, very quick to take advantage of anything and everything their habitat has to offer.  As it's suburban South East London, that means whatever its human inhabitants have to offer.  My garden comes with free bathing facilities for them (no, I don’t charge) which can lead to a photo opportunity or two.  I think I may have been inspired by Sir David Attenborough's most recent series, Secret Gardens, which was a very pleasant watch and perhaps encouraged me to write this piece.  Crows love a bath, after all, so why not share their antics?  But do they really have to wreck the bird bath in the process?
