Insect Poetry

Every now and again the erudite Book Weevil calls together the Insect Literary Society for an evening of sharing poetry by the firelight.  There are offerings from several members on this particular evening – moth, firefly and daddy longlegs all have something to contribute as does the dragonfly. Of course, from a group of insects you can imagine that their subjects are close to home – metamorphosis, anatomy and danger!

This charming animation was written by Meme Marie Meyers who sadly died this month.  The animation and design were executed after-hours by members of the Vinton Studios’ staff and the insect readings were performed by professional actors from the Portland theatre community.
