Voices for Freedom

This is an animation about Dhondup. His full name is Dhondup Wangchen and he is real.  He is at the moment in prison in China, sentenced to six years for making a film.

The contents?  Interviews with ordinary Tibetans about their view on the then upcoming Olympic Games and the human rights situation in their country.

When he was arrested he was beaten up, deprived of both food and sleep and consistently tied to a chair.  His relatives do not know how he is.  What they do know is that he has Hepatitis B and that he is not receiving treatment for his condition.

You can see the film here and make your own mind up about whether or not this should have led to a six year jail sentence.

You can also call on the Chinese government to release Dhondup Wangchen.
