And Then I Vanish

Have you ever looked in to somebody’s dreams? And Then I Vanish, created by Cornel Swoboda may be as close as you get to doing that for a day or two – at the very least.  This surreal motion poem started life as a spare time project for Swoboda but, as these things do, it evolved in to something quite different. It is also one of the most visually different videos I have seen in an age – so apologies if it keeps you awake tonight!

Friday

Here’s a spooky little story for you! Have you ever had recurring nightmares? This animated short by Fabricio Lima is about a young woman who has the same dream each and every Friday night which involves being followed by a fox. How can she stop these dreams?

You will have to watch till the end to find out! This animation was illustrated and animated inside Photoshop and the story was by Martin Garde Abildgaard with Adrian Wilding providing the narration.

All in all a well told, really well made story to send a shiver down your spine – until perhaps… ah, well that would be giving it away now, wouldn’t it?

The Tale of Mr Rêvus

This amazing animated short film, The Tale of Mr Rêvus is the graduation (Diploma) film of Marius Herzog, produced at the Georg-Simon-Ohm Hochschule – University Of Applied Sciences, in Nuremberg, Germany.

The challenge of this movie for Marius was to reproduce the entire production process of an animated 3D short film on his own.

This included story development, concept design, modelling, rigging, directing, editing, animating, rendering and finally compositing.

The superb score was orchestrated by Simon Scharf, a student at the Hochschule für Musik also in Nuremberg (HfM), conducted by Guido Johannes Rumstadt and played by the orchestra of the HfM.
