Valley of the Kith

Valley of the Kith is a passion project created by Callan Woolcock of award-winning studio Jumbla, using primarily using Adobe products.

The intriguing, high-adrenaline video-game-style piece extends the capabilities of animation by pushing the boundaries of Element 3D, while capitalising on the available resources of After Effects and other Adobe products.

In The Fall

It is said that when a person is about to die then their whole life suddenly flashes before them.  Such is the case in this wonderful (and brilliantly titled) animated short by Steve Cutts, a designer and artist based in east London..

A banana skin on the top of a block of flats and that’s it. C’est la vie – but nice to see that at least one person can be pragmatic about it (eventually!).

The short was created in Adobe Flash and After Effects. The music is provided by the very cool Guided by Voices.

The Seed

Ever wondered what happens to the seeds of an apple if you swallow them? This is a two-minute animated voyage through nature's life cycle, following the trials and tribulations of a single humble apple seed.

The film was created by Johnny Kelly and tells the story simply but to great effect. 

The film was funded by Adobe, to showcase their CS4 range of software. It was produced at Nexus Productions, features a soundtrack by Jape and was made using a mixture of stop motion papercraft and 2D drawn animation.

I think I may be a little more careful next time I eat an apple!

Macaque Borrows Even More Photographers' Cameras

You may have recently read about the macaque monkey which borrowed the camera of phographer David Slater in a national park in North Sulawesi, Indonesia.  Many people thought that the images had something of the Adobe about them but proved to be wrong.  However, we can now reveal that the monkey is something of a camera klepto.

It seems he has been stealing borrowing cameras the world from photographers the world over - and it has been going on for some time.  Here, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, is the proof.  What more is there to say?
