The Mega Plush

This is the first episode of a new series which promises to be… awesome, at least if this episode is anything to go by.  It follows the adventures of four plush toy vigilantes (Mega Bear, Mega Tiger, Mega Elephant and Mega Gorilla) who are at odds with SOC (Society of Chimps), a band of unhinged sock puppets who are out to conquer the world.

Directed by Matt Burniston you can find out more about this epic new series of adventures by visiting the Mega Plush website or visiting their Facebook Page.

A Fox Tale

Two brothers hunt for fox in the forests of ancient China. Yet when their quarry eludes them and transforms in to a beautiful young woman (one might say a fox turning in to a fox of an altogether different nature) then the relationship between the two brothers quickly breaks down.  There follows one almighty battle between the siblings, the winner to get the girl. Yet the girl may have other ideas.

This wonderful animated short was created by four students,Thomas Bozovic, Alexandre Cazals, Julien Legay and Chao Ma at the French school Supinfocom Arles. Created in 3dsmax, Photoshop, After Effects and Premiere Pro this certainly enhances their school’s reputation for outstanding student work and is an extremely good animated CV for the four students involved.

Moving Day

You could say that it would be a dream come true if a little girl, on moving house, discovered that the garden of her new home contained beautiful living fairies. You could say that, but what if aforementioned fairies spit at you and give you the finger? Drastic action must be taken, especially when they try and ruin your day. This is one school girl who has more than a little of the St Trinians in her!

This is quite a hilarious piece which upturns the usual mythos around the pretty little winged thingies – the Cottingley Fairies this bunch most certainly are not! More like a set of Tinkerbells on various illegal substances. This beautifully shot short, Moving Day, was created by Jason Wingrove, an internationally awarded freelance director of drama, documentary and short films as well as comedy and performance commercials.

We dedicate this to any dads out there who have little girls who prefer dressing up as fairies to playing soccer. It may not change anything but you can imagine - and hope...

Tourist

If you have ever been a tourist in a big city you will most probably completely sympathize with the everyman hero of this very funny animated short.

A tourist braves the bustling city streets as he tries to snap the perfect photo of New York only to find that the Big Apple seems to be a bit camera shy. In a city full of landmarks, there is always someone there to ruin his shot.

Action! Intrigue! Sightseeing!  Created by Matthew K this was the winner of the Best Animation Award at The Big Apple Film Festival in 2008. It also, unsurprisingly, made the official selection at several other film festivals.
