A Tiny Tale – Charming Animated Short About a Secret World of Toys in the Garden

I don’t know about you, but sometimes when I dig up parts of the garden, I come across the remnants of toys long ago abandoned.  They’re the tiny ones – toy soldiers, pieces of Lego – you get the idea.  This charming animation – A Tiny Tale -  by students at Rubika takes the idea of toys left to their own devices in a garden and runs with it.  We have, more or less, a micro-version of our own society, complete with abandoned dogs, a spaceship-mad boy and a cyclist who really just wants to beat her own records.  But toys sometimes break...

How they come together is up to you to find out – but this inventive and beautifully made animated short is a joy to watch.

It was directed by Chloé Bourdic, Théophile Coursimault, Sylvain Cuvillier, Noémie Halberstam, Maÿlis Mosny and Zijing Ye, with music by Romain Camiolo, performed by Louise Gagnac on flute and Aryane Roy on vocals, and sound design by Théophile Coursimault.
