I had to feature this – almost compelled too. I could say it was because I liked the composition, the drained colors, the slow motion. I could. What I really, really liked about this was the way that the rat got round to smashing the watermelon. The anticipation was killing me as he cavorted (with some panache it must be said) around the exocarp of the aforementioned large fruit only to finally smash his way through it mesocarp and endocarp to the sweet interior flesh. It's joyous.
This is a test film made by Brad Cooper, and was made with the Arri Alexa then edited in FCP 7. Smashing.
