Do you carry out work in your local community which has positive value but you wonder how you might fund it in the future?  If so, or you know of a community project which may be in need of financial assistance then help may be at hand.

The Co-operative Community Fund donated well over a million pounds last year in the form of small grants.  Overall, thousands of charities, clubs and groups have received donations from the fund which was set up to supply fiscal support to projects throughout the UK.

If you are truly committed to a local project and want to make change actually happen then you should visit their website to see whether you can apply.  You do not have to have charitable status but your group or project must carry out affirmative work in your area.  Also, your project must attend to local concerns and hopefully do so in an innovative way.

In my own local area there are any number of groups who help the community in a number of way but my own personal favourite is one which helps young people to educate themselves about the danger of carrying knives in the mistaken belief that they will be safer if they do so.

Through a variety of different ways such as the creation of multimedia videos, the young people are encouraged to discover for themselves that poor choices can lead them in to more danger than they would otherwise be in, not least from the long arm of the law! That is just a single idea – you probably have a few of your own.  Visit the website to discover more about how you can take part in this new initiative.
